Città Metropolitana Milano

The document introduces design criteria to improve learning, comfort and space management, applied in the first pilot projects in Milan.

The Guidelines translate neuroscientific and pedagogical principles into applicable and measurable design criteria, oriented toward psychophysical well-being and the quality of the educational experience. Spatial flexibility allows variable configurations supporting different teaching activities, while personalization and recognizability of environments strengthen orientation and sense of belonging. The integration of natural light, colors, curved forms and natural elements helps improve perceptual comfort, inclusivity and the identity of school spaces.
The Guidelines demonstrate how architectural design can become an operational tool for change, positively impacting students, educational communities and the territory.
