Generator Hostel

The new space was created through the conversion of an existing hotel, reinterpreted as an urban device able to reactivate the entire building and part of the surrounding neighborhood.

We oversaw both the design and construction phases, taking on a coordinating role. In the new hotel, the building’s historical layering meets a contemporary, direct, and international design language. The two languages do not overlap; instead, they come together in a deliberately irreverent dialogue: the interiors by The Design Agency respond with character, without attempting to blend in, setting textured surfaces, bold colors, and graphic elements against walls that bear the marks of time. In the common areas, the design leaves behind the rigidity of traditional hospitality to embrace a more dynamic and inclusive dimension: fluid spaces designed to be crossed, experienced, and shaped by interaction.
The result is an intervention that goes beyond the renovation of a building. Generator Hostel becomes a platform for contemporary social life, capable of bringing together different languages, people, and rhythms.
