Forum Palermo

The project reorganizes the shopping center’s spaces according to a structure inspired by Mediterranean urban morphology, articulated through thematic squares and continuous pathways that guide flows and functions.

Forum Palermo is designed as a unified spatial organism, structured around three main squares that define its layout and user experience. Piazza dell’Acqua is distinguished by a wave-shaped roof that reinforces its role as a central space for gathering and relaxation. The Food Court is conceived as a composition of articulated volumes, differentiated by color and inspired by Mediterranean architecture, while Piazza della Moda interprets Palermo’s cultural stratification through forms and materials that reference Arab traditions.
The galleries form the connective system of the project, ensuring spatial continuity and clear orientation. Colors, forms, and local materials contribute to building an identity closely tied to the context, supported by an integrated communication strategy and signage system developed in collaboration with Maurilio Catalano. The calibrated use of stone, marble, metal, and glass defines bright and varied environments, ensuring overall coherence while allowing each area to maintain its own recognizability.
The project delivers a structured, legible retail center rooted in the local context, where new architectural elements and existing structures engage in dialogue through a contemporary and unified language.
