Palazzo delle Poste e Telegrafi

The renovation work enhances the architectural features of the historic building, redefining the use of the common and residential spaces.

The building, constructed of limestone, travertine, and tuff, features a historic façade restored to its original color scheme. The elevation towards the sea has been eliminated, maintaining the existing façade backdrop. The ground floor continues to house the post office and commercial functions, while the upper floors have been redesigned to accommodate flexible residences.
The main staircase is finished in terrazzo, the entrance features Art Deco ironwork, and the decoration extends to the landings and corridors, with theatrical lighting and marble and brass finishes; the common areas reflect the existing materials and decorations. A new reception desk and post office box complete the project.
For this historic and prestigious building with a privileged view of the city of Salerno, the restoration is philologically conservative, especially in the façade and decorative elements of the space. The care taken to preserve the historical significance of the building safeguards its prestige.
