Two red, velvety, theatrical shells appear at the fair as dreamlike portals of an installation that recounts David Lynch’s poetics of the unconscious.

From the masterplan study to the installation, the project shapes an immersive architectural space between threshold, reflection, and theatricality.

The masterplan for “Interiors by David Lynch. A Thinking Room” starts from the need to find the ideal placement for the installation, maximizing visual impact and the harmony of the relationship with the neighboring stands.
The spaces are enclosed between two ovoid shells clad in a red curtain that defines the boundary between the external fair frenzy and inner introspection, creating, in between, a waiting space in velvet made of drapes, carpet, and a soft seat. Here the atmosphere shifts and prepares visitors for a collected passage that amplifies the emotional dimension of the work.
The intermediate space is an antechamber to Lynch’s suspension: an invitation to detach from the fair’s chaos and immerse oneself in a visual, tactile, and cerebral experience, between architecture and the unconscious.
